INSTITUTIONAL GREEN POLICY

   The Institution is located in the rural area and it believes in preserving a green and healthy atmosphere. To keep an eco-friendly campus, every effort is made to maintain carbon dioxide neutrality by planting trees and plants of various types. The magnificent landscaping of trees and plants not only creates a pleasant study environment for students, but also draws the attention of visitors to the campus.

Some of the initiatives taken to provide a clean and environment-friendly campus are as follows:

  1. Mode of Transport:
  2.    Students are advised to take public transportation to go to and from campus. Bicycles are parked in a separate area.

  3. Plastic-free campus:
  4.    The management advocates and established plastic-free campus. Various campus groups arrange events to create awareness about the negative impact of plastics.

  5. Carbon-neutral initiatives:
  6.    Emphasis is laid on paperless office to save carbon emission in printers. Reuse of one-side paper printouts is encouraged. Usage of bio-degradable papers is encouraged. Utilization of ERP software and ICT facilitates paperless administration. The college communications are primarily through the Institution domain mail ID and WhatsApp group.CRT monitors are replaced by LCD monitors and Bio-metric attendance is used.

  7. Rainwater harvesting:
  8.     A Bore well Recharge and nearly 9 rainwater harvesting pits are installed for proper rainwater accumulation and absorption.

  9. Environmental Management:
  10.     The Institution promotes sound environmental management policies and practices by following State and Central Government standards, reducing and avoiding pollution. The institution adopts objectives for increasing environmental performance based on a thorough assessment of existing environment demands.

Green-Cover Management

    The institute initiates and promotes actions that allow more green covering. The institution’s Eco Club is in charge of promoting and creating awareness about the importance of green covering in the campus. The Eco Club took the initiative to create a nursery inside the campus.

Energy management:

    The institutions ensure the consumption of low energy by installing LED bulbs.

Water Management:

    The institution ensures efficient and environmentally responsible use of water. Rainwater is harvested and is used for maintaining green campus. RO plants are installed to treat the water for drinking purpose and sprinklers are used for watering the garden. Various awareness camps are organized in this regard.

Waste Reduction and Recycling:

    The institution ensures that sustainable resource management practices based on reduce-reuse principles are implemented. Efforts are taken to minimize the adverse environmental impacts by proper disposal of paper waste and e-waste and use environment-friendly cups / plates and glasses.

Awareness and Training Programs:

    The Eco club, NSS and YRC of the institution organize programmes on environmental related issues to create awareness among students, faculty and the neighboring community.
